Expert Chiropractic Care in Brisbane
Helping athletes, families & everyday movers stay active and pain-free.
About River City Chiropractic
River City Chiropractic provides evidence-based chiropractic care in Brisbane, with a focus on sports injuries, rehabilitation, and active movement-based treatment. Our approach is assessment-led, individualised, and centred on helping people move well and stay active.
At our clinic, we utilise a combination of Kjellberg (shellbay) and Diversified chiropractic methods to provide precise, hands-on care. Kjellberg Technique is a traditional Australian chiropractic approach developed in Queensland in the early 20th century, focusing on specific assessment and adjustment of the spine and pelvis. It incorporates manual traction and high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) techniques designed to improve joint mobility and reduce mechanical restriction
Your First Visit
Your first consultation is a 45-minute session designed to thoroughly assess your condition and begin treatment.
We start with a detailed health history and physical examination to understand what’s causing your pain and identify the factors contributing to it.
This allows us to explain:
What’s going on – a clear diagnosis of your condition
Why it’s happening – identifying postural, biomechanical, lifestyle, or training contributors
How we can help – a personalised treatment and recovery approach
Unless contraindicated, and after discussing our findings with you, treatment will be provided on the first visit.
Depending on your needs, treatment may include:
Spinal and pelvic adjustments (including Diversified and Kjellberg techniques)
Joint mobilisation
Soft-tissue therapy (A.R.T, Trigger Point, Cupping ect.)
Individualised rehabilitation and exercise prescription

Treatment Modalities
Treatment is guided by a thorough assessment and tailored to each individual’s presentation, goals, and activity demands. We use a range of evidence-informed treatment modalities to support pain management and movement quality.
Chiropractic Manipulation (HVLA)
Chiropractic manipulation may be used where clinically appropriate to address joint dysfunction and assist with pain management and movement.
Trigger point therapy
Trigger point therapy involves applying focused pressure to areas of muscle during treatment. Pressure can be held for for short periods of 1-5 minutes.
A.R.T
A.R.T. is a hands-on technique where specific pressure is applied to soft tissue while the area is taken through controlled movements to stretch and contract the effected muscle.
Cupping
Cupping involves placing small cups on the skin to create gentle suction over an area of muscle or soft tissue. The cups are left in place for a short period while moving the targeted muscle through its normal range.
Exercise prescription
Exercise-based rehabilitation is a key component evidence based care. Individualised exercise programs may be used to improve strength, mobility or control with progressions tailored to your goals
